What Is The Proprioceptive System

September 2, 2024 by jennifer 3 Comments

When your child was diagnosed with Sensory Processing Disorder, you may have heard that your child had a hyper or hypo sensitive proprioceptive system. Say what?

Our proprioceptive system helps our bodies understand where we are physically.

For example, my younger one used to walk into doorways all the time because he couldn’t calculate where his body was in the frame of the door.

Watch this video to get a better understanding of your child’s proprioceptive system and how it affects him and his daily interaction with the world around him.

I’m a mom of a child with SPD and I’m also deaf. Is there anyway you could add captions or subtitles in all videos? This will benefit everyone, thank you

Thank you for the feedback. Unfortunately I do not produce these videos, so I am unable to alter them. But I will keep that in mind when I do make our own videos moving forward.
