The Cause of Stimming: What’s your stim?

November 1, 2024 by jennifer Leave a Comment

How many of us have kiddos who stim? My youngest one used to bang his head all of the time, and I worried if this would go on forever.

We have found other outlets to help but he still bangs his head against me on occasion when he gets really overstimulated.

“The word stim is short for self-stimulation.  It is associated with several conditions such as deafblindness and intellectual disability, but most commonly with autism.” – Friendship Circle
